Ron Paul for President in 2008? Is He Green? Doesn’t Look Like it.
Well, it looks like Rep. Ron Paul is running away with the victory in my informal 2008 Presidential election poll (see below). This speaks to two things: That Paul’s organization sniffs out every internet lead (smart) and that the eco-sphere isn’t really gearing up yet for 2008. I believe the latter is partly because many of the “sustainability-set” don’t mind being taken for granted, knowing they’ll cast their vote for whatever candidate the Democrats serve up, irrespective of that candidate’s environmental record or position.
While I know that Paul is a staunch Constitutionalist (and this is a very good thing in my eyes - have I mentioned that I have Thomas Jefferson’s profile tattooed on my left thigh?), I don’t know much about his environmental record, position, or agenda. Maybe someone from Paul’s camp will read this and enlighten me.
Yet, to be fair to Paul and the other candidates, they don’t have to have much of an environmental agenda, as voters aren’t pushing for this as a top-five issue. Those who are will be neatly gobbled up by the Democrats, so their voices, no matter how shrill, will be rendered mute by a party whose track record on environmental issues is very mixed, at best. Yes, I can hear the “but they’ve done more than the Republicans” protests even now. And this means, what, exactly?
 UPDATE: Paul seems to have ZERO environmental agenda, judging from early responses by his adherents. Guess we’ll have to keep on looking for a candidate.

US Congressman Dr. Ron Paul was still receiving applause as he walked out the door of a private home in Pembroke on Saturday evening after speaking to 150 supporters who donated thousands of dollars to seed his bid for the presidency. Paul arrived at 9 PM and stayed to mingle with the adoring crowd until 11:30 PM as they drank coffee and dipped fruit from a large arrangement into a chocolate fountain.
While visiting New Hampshire on a presidential exploratory trip, he also appeared at the NH Liberty Forum in Concord, where he had been endorsed for the presidency on the Friday evening before by former Libertarian presidential candidate Michael Badnarik.
Paul’s speech, which was recorded professionally by California filmmaker Bill Dumas, centered around the financial state of the country, the war in Iraq, and the limited roll of government, and was met with long bouts of applause by the standing-room only crowd.
Supporters believe that Paul’s message can unite fiscal conservatives, republicans, libertarians, constitutionalists, and others who are disillusioned with the direction in which the country is headed, in the cause of less government and reasonable spending and on getting the country back on track with regard to foreign policy.
Finally a candidate we can all endorse!
The central issue of the 2008 election is this: TECHNOLOGY. In fact, technology is the crux of every election, its just that great care has been taken to lead the sheople away from all that, with miraculous sounding religions, sex, violence, or whatever else the poor idiot lambies can be distracted with.
During clintons time is when the internet really started picking up speed, and the order of the day among certain patriots was to use the net to scare the traitors here in this country badly. Very badly. That was done, and because they are such meeces at heart, it was really not too difficult.
We scared them so badly they got off a lot of the ancient technology they had been sitting on, some of which came to them by digging around the pyramids, and in other places. After ww2 the german scientists were conveniently split up between the two super powers, USA-ussr, thereby ensuring a huge and lucrative fear machine on both sides, nurturing further the final development of what the vatican had bequeathed to adolpho and his kind. There is a lot of evidence showing tht adolph was groomed for his position as vatican beneficiary, and tyrant, by england, but thats another story.
So, the worms who have taken over our government and currency and judicial, they got off a lot of technology since boy jorge stole the elections here in 2000 and 2004, said worms like jorge and his family hoping to use it to control what they perceived as an explosive situation, a possible civil revolt, and even worse, a TAX revolt. You’ve no doubt heard the stories of oil use being perpetuated by the rich buying out the patents or inventions that make automobiles more efficient…this is true for the most part, and easily provable.
The real fact is this: motive technology has been bypassing oil and the combustion engines for a long time now. Steam, which we were getting pretty good at even before oil came along in the early part of the 20th century, as well as electrified vehicles of many kinds, threatened to replace oil, so all this hooplah about oil control is actually just price control, by the bush family and their ilk, who are protecting their oil interests, which they have killed, lied, and cheated to control. Kind of like hearst did with his wood pulp paper, by making hemp paper illegal. Same thing. They are such twits and intellectual slackers that they can’t keep up with technology, though what they lack in smarts they make up for in clubs and guns.
And here we are. bush world. Pretty innit?

And just as the bush traitors created the need for all this ENMOD by selling us out to the Russians (Because they really needed the electronic mind control of ENMOD/Antennae technology to destroy America for their international masters) so did they create the oil shortage, and the need for the product they had killed to control. Initial work on HAARP began in the mid 1980’s by Atlantic Richfield Corporations subsidiary ARCO Production Technologies Corp., and its then president, physicist Bernard Eastlund. ARCO wanted to find an on-site demand for the enormous amounts of Alaskan Natural Gas it owns. So it cooked up an energy intensive idea.
Eastlund worked under contract for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Now called ARPA) and was awarded three patents–one which was classified until 1991—for inventions dealing with ionospheric modification. This post will simmer untouched for months, but come 2008, there will be those who visit all forums such as this - so you should be prepared to answer questions like this. So far, I’m impressed by the organization of the Paul campaign. Exciting stuff.

Rudy Giuliani is the much better candidate for libertarian-minded voters for 2008. Ron Paul doesn’t understand the threat that the country faces from Islamo-Fascism. He thinks that if we just surrender to the Islamo-Fascists that they will go away and leave us alone.

Eric, please stop posting this nonsense. No libertarian-minded conservative would EVER think of supporting liberals like Giuliani, McCain or Romney, all phonies in my book.
From what I have seen, Dr. Paul just does not think that the federal government should be in the business of regulating the environment. He has introduced the Hemp bill, which is the most environmental thing anyone in Congress has done recently.
If anything, Ron Paul would be for letting you help the environment however you want, just do it with your own money. We don’t need the federal government to tell us what is right and wrong or regulate our lives. The word of environmentalism spreads poorly when the mixed messages the government sends just confuse or piss people off. If you want the government to screw things up, encourage them to regulate the environment. If you want things to get better, encourage citizens to be more environmentally aware and leave the gov’t out of it.
My friend Eric supports Giuliani; I don’t. He has a few positives, but I don’t agree with him on the Iraq War and he has only a tepid commitment to civil liberties.
I am a green libertarian and I support Ron Paul. On the environment, Ron voted NO on speeding up approval of harm-causing forest thinning projects, among many other things where FedGov subsidizes environmental destruction. He’s for free-market solutions to environmental problems, and holding polluters responsible for their actions. There may be specific things he disagrees with envronmental groups such as new Federal laws, but that’sz because he’s a strict Constitutionalist.

Ron Paul is the man for the job!!
Voting for president based soley on environmental issues is idiotic. No wonder the elites call us cattle. How about you vote in the best man for the job, rather than whoever will pretend to support your issue. Face it, no matter what candidate pretends to be for your issue, once they become president they do what they’re told. Ron Paul is the only contender that would actually do what is right, and not what his corporate sponsors want him to do. Check his history and voting record.
